First steps
Your first hour of play: starting a game, the key indicators and your first decisions.
Welcome, architect! You start out in a basement on Rue Réaumur, in Paris, with an empty server room, a tight budget and one goal: build the biggest cloud empire. This chapter sums up your first hour of play.
Starting a game
A free account is required to play: click Play from any page of the site and, if you're not signed in, you'll be taken to sign in or sign up. The game runs right in your browser, with nothing to install.
You pick one of your 3 cloud slots and the game is saved automatically every minute.
A new game starts with an empty server room, no contracts and $25,000 in capital (welcome bonus included). As long as you have no clients and no loaded hardware, nothing breaks down: take your time to build.
Your first fifteen minutes
- Open A.R.I.A. (H key): the assistant gives you guided missions, rewarded with capital and XP.
- Buy your first racks with the “New Rack” button in the bottom bar, then place them in build mode (B).
- Watch the temperature in the indicator bar: above 45 °C, your servers suffer and eventually fail.
- Add a CRAC (computer room air conditioner) as soon as the heat rises.
- Sign a first client contract to turn your capacity into steady revenue.
The indicators to keep an eye on
| Indicator | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Capital | Your cash. It rises every second with your revenue and drops with your costs. |
| Active power | Power drawn compared with installed capacity. At 100%, everything shuts down. |
| Temperature | Room average. Heat is the leading cause of failures. |
| PUE | Energy efficiency (see the glossary). The closer to 1, the better. |
| Reputation | A 5-star rating. It determines which clients you can attract. |
